Modified on Wed, 14 Jun 2023 at 10:33 AM

First, click the apple icon on top left corner > Select System Preferences... from the menu. Then click Security & Privacy.

Click Privacy tab.

Click Camera in the lefthand column, then tick the box next to Firefox.

*If you don't see Camera or Firefox option, please update your MacOS to the latest version (Click Apple Icon > About This Mac > Software Update...) and update your Firefox browser to the latest version (click Firefox on the menu bar at the top left corner of your screen, then click About Firefox > Check for updates). If updating doesn't work, please contact us right away.

A small window will pop up, click Quit Now. By doing so you are allowing Firefox to access your camera.

Lastly, click Microphone in the lefthand column, then tick the box next to Firefox.

*If you don't see Microphone or Firefox option, please update your MacOS to the latest version (Click Apple Icon > About This Mac > Software Update...) and update your Firefox browser to the latest version (click Firefox on the menu bar at the top left corner of your screen, then click About Firefox > Check for updates). A small window will pop up, click Quit Now. By doing so you are allowing Firefox to access your microphone.

Now log into PitchVantage and start recording. If you still see the error message, contact us for help or go through the list below to troubleshoot other factors that could block access:

-Browser level permission (Firefox)

-Close all other applications and browser tabs

-Is browser up to date? Click Firefox on the menu bar at the top left corner of your screen, then click About Firefox > Check for updates

-Clear Cache (Firefox)

-Are mic and cam plugged in (external device) AND turned on? Disconnect and reconnect

-Try a different browser

-Are you able to record yourself here:

-Check your anti-virus software

-Does your mic and cam work in other applications such as Skype or Zoom? If not, hardware might be the problem
